My enrollment was my first experience and it was quite informative,The training material used was very clear, detailed and well summarized, i learned what amounts to cross misconduct of employee and what amounts to minor misconduct,i also learned what i never knew on Retention period of documents on disciplinary matters that if it was a minor disciplinary matter documents should be retained for three years only and if it was a major/serious disciplinary matter documents must be retained for at least five to six years then expunged.I also learned that human resources policies must be formulated based the relevant laws derived from the constitution of Kenya. Finally i learned how payment of overtime, weeks and public holidays are calculated.

It was an eye opener and broad understanding from the study and experience, I understand that labour laws in Kenya provide the legal framework that governs the relationship between employers and employees. Their main purpose is to ensure fairness, protect workers’ rights, and promote harmonious industrial relations.
